Jamaica in social lull

THE EDITOR, Sir:
I MUST say that in my observation of the present social landscape I have concluded that we are in a social lull. There is nothing radical and soul-stirring being born of this country. Have we run out of those things that will impress itself in our popular culture?
We as a people have unfortunately become cotton candy seekers, looking for sweet, light, frivolous, selfish pleasures which have no substance and possess no significant benefit. But, on the other hand, we may all be too busy surviving.
