How absurd!
published: Saturday | October 2, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THIS LETTER is a response to the views of the Reverend Al Miller whose position is that there is no conflict between religion and science because God invented Science. How absurd!

His views only add fuel to those sceptical of the Church's teachings, because even the dumbest person knows that God was created by man. As soon as a natural disaster occurs, we hear all kinds of prophecies that suggest judgement is upon us. Come on Reverend Miller, you are smarter than what you are saying in your letter to The Gleaner.

Religion and Science are two different schools of thought. If God invented Science, the plagues that descended on Egypt would have been cured. And no sensible human being (except a church brethren) would believe that a virgin could give birth to a child. Remember, Mr. Miller they are many people who read The Gleaner to be enlightened, and as for me, I find your beliefs wanting.

I am, etc.,
