Commending the Consul General
published: Saturday | October 2, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WRITE to commend the Consul-General of Jamaica in New York, Dr. Basil K. Bryan, for the excellent work he has been doing in dealing with our community and our country's affairs, as well as the service offered by the Consulate in reaching out to our people.

This past Independence, the Jamaican community was always in the limelight, highly respected here, and I must congratulate the Consul General and his staff for making us all so proud to be Jamaican. Jamaica's name was all over the place and our country received very positive media coverage and respect all around.

The Governor-General was also here to celebrate with us at the annual Independence Service, the Independence Ball was as usual successful in bringing our community together, and all of this topped by our remarkable success at the Olympics.

We are so elated! On behalf of the community, I want to thank Dr. Bryan and his hardworking staff for making us proud, and pray that God gives them the strength to continue the excellent job they are doing.

I am, etc.,

'PROUD JAMAICAN'
