WESTERN BUREAU: GLENMUIR HIGH dropped their first points of the ISSA Pepsi/Sports Plus daCosta Cup season yesterday when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Garvey Maceo in their Zone I top-of-the-table clash at Brancourt.
The former Ben Francis Knockout winners and finalists had won five in a row up to yesterday but remain on top with 16 points from six matches, three more than Garvey Maceo.
That result left former winners Clarendon College, who play Edwin Allen today, as the only team remaining with a perfect win record.
Maggotty recorded the upset of the round yesterday when they stunned Zone E leaders Munro College 2-1 for their first win of the season but they are still in last place, trailing Balaclava on goal difference.
Black River High, who beat Mannings 2-0 in Zone C, and Central High, who blanked former champions Vere Technical 5-0 in Zone I, were also first-time winners yesterday.
Cornwall College, thanks to two goals from national Under-17 captain Omroy White, stretched their unbeaten run against Montego Bay rivals Herbert Morrison to 10 seasons with a 2-1 win and only need three points from their last two games to secure a place in the Inter-zone round.
