RJR restructures
published: Wednesday | October 13, 2004

RJR COMMUNICATIONS Group has changed its staffing arrangement to bring it in line with the recent consolidation of its television and radio newsrooms into one news centre and the relocation of Television Jamaica (TVJ) to a new state-of-the-art facility on Lyndhurst Road.

The reorganisation is centred on strengthening the core strategic divisions recognised as critical to the group's future growth. As part of this process, Kay Osborne has been appointed to serve as general manager for Television Jamaica and Sarah Bayliss as general manager for Multimedia Jamaica.

Ms. Osborne received a 'Merit Award' in the category of 'Public Service' in the 2003 Gleaner Honour Awards for her work in exposing problems at the island's children's homes and places of safety. She has served for 25 years in senior management positions in corporate America.

Ms. Bayliss previously owned and managed a multimedia company and successfully undertook marketing based business developments in the United Kingdom and Jamaica.

Under chairman and managing director Lester Spaulding, there are now four divisional directors -- finance and administration, marketing and sales, operations, technical strategy and development.

DIRECTORS

The group's director of operations is Gary Allen, the former chief operating officer for the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC); Stephen Legister, director of technical strategy and development, manages the group's transmission network, engineering and technology; Yvonne Wilks is director of marketing, with over 19 years experience in media, marketing and sales in Europe, West Africa, and North America.

Director of finance and administration, Rupert Hartley, has worked with RJR for over 20 years. He will spearhead the group's financial, auditing and human resource activities.
