Bank of Nova Scotia look to retain crown
published: Saturday | October 30, 2004

Paul-Andre Walker, Staff Reporter

LAST year's winners Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS) 'A' will defend their Business House Netball Association Senior League title against General Accident at 6:30 p.m. today in the National Indoor Sports Centre.

The indoor venue is also the venue for three other finals with the Intermediate 'A', 'B', and junior league titles up for grabs.

In the Junior League, Life of Jamaica will play against ISSA Transport Group at 3:00 p.m.; at 4:00 p.m., Blue Cross will take on Mainland International in the Intermediate 'B' League final; while HEART Trust NTA will take on Jamaica Urban Transport Corporation (JUTC) in the Intermediate 'A' League final at 5:00 p.m.

At 6:00 p.m. there will be an interlude for the performances of the top four talent pieces from the Miss Business House competition held earlier this season.

The BNS team, which has remained dominant this season, will then be showing the netballing fans on hand whether or not they have what it takes to repeat as champions. They made their way into the final in impressive form, devouring Jamaica Broilers 59-26 in last weekend's semi-final.

Jamaica Broilers went on to claim the third place prize because Churches Co-operative Credit Union were booted from the competition for missing their semi-final game against General Accident.

THIRD PLACE

In the Intermediate 'B' League, Salada have already copped the third place prize by eking out an overtime 35-34 victory over Digicel after full-time had found the teams locked on 32 points.

In the Intermediate 'A' League, Jamaica Public Service can say that they were the third best this season after they got by ICD 41-31 in their third place play-off on Thursday.

Wray and Nephew were losers in the Junior League third place play-off yesterday with National Continental Bakery, who ran away 28-15 victors.
