All I want is ...rail service
published: Tuesday | November 16, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

HOW CAN we as a people be more appreciative of our homeland?

Having just arrived in the United States, to be greeted by this cold and unfriendly weather, I can't help but realise how blessed we are as a nation, truly blessed.

Travelling by trains to various destinations, the long delays coupled with the freezing climate and just the thought of sunny Jamaica, makes you want to go home back on the next available flight. However the travelling public here have a better appreciation for this commodity called public transportation.

Which leads me to the question, when will our rail service again become an option for our travelling public? The long delay has certainly put a negative impression on the way we move our people in our small but beautiful island Jamaica, land we love.

All I want for Christmas for all Jamaicans is the rail service.

I am, etc,

MARC JOHNSON
