On helping murderers

THE EDITOR, Sir:
THE ARTICLE by Dr. Garth Rattray should be required reading by all Jamaicans, especially the part that relates to people providing psychological and other support to these murderers, as he stated: "They need the psychological and physical support of others to perform their nefarious acts."
RESPECT FOR HUMAN LIFE
Lack of respect for human life is a cancer that will destroy a society and unless we attack and fight against it in every way we can, we cannot guarantee the future for our children. The crowning work of God in the Creation, as shown in the Bible was the creation of man and woman, and God values every life. Shielding and protecting murderers is like committing murder itself that's why a person can be imprisoned for being an accessory.
If you are afraid of going to the police, go to your Pastor or to someone whose integrity you trust for advice, or send in an anonymous tip. In the U.S. they have a "Crime Stoppers" network where you can call in anonymous tips. Jamaica, if we don't have it already, needs to introduce something like that. Sure that has its own dangers, but we can adopt safeguards. Save Jamaica, turn in a known murderer!
