Injured policeman in stable condition

WESTERN BUREAU:

THE POLICE constable who was hospitalised after he was knocked off his motorcycle by a female motorist in Lucea, Hanover, on Thursday, is said to be in a stable condition at the Cornwall Regional Hospital. The full extent of his injury has not been disclosed.

The injured policeman has been identified as Constable Cleveland Spence of the Hanover Police Division. The woman was also taken to hospital where she is being kept for observation.

Police reports are that Constable Spence was conducting motorised patrol at about 8:00 a.m. when a woman driving a Mazda car, disobeyed a stop sign and drove out of an intersection at East Avenue, Lucea. The car collided with the policeman's motorcycle and he was thrown from the bike.
