Ganja found in airport bathroom
published: Saturday | November 27, 2004

WESTERN BUREAU:

THE AIRPORT police in Montego Bay, St. James, are trying to determine the source of the 204 packages of ganja which were found inside a bathroom in the first class departure lounge at the Sangster International Airport on Wednesday.

The drug, weighing 80 pounds, was reportedly found inside a black suitcase that had been placed in a garbage receptacle that was retrieving trash bags to be carried to the incinerator, located near the airstrip.

No arrests have been made in connection with the find.

Reports are that about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, the police were carrying out a routine inspection when the bathroom was checked. The receptacle was seen, searched and the suitcase subsequently exposed. The bag was opened and the packages, wrapped in brown masking tape, containing the ganja were recovered.
