THE EDITOR, Sir:I WATCH with horror, as this country slips deeper and deeper in the mire of evil and cold blooded murders, while most of us sit tight-lipped and allow the amnesty international and the Jamaicans for Justice to dictate terms and conditions that are not in the best interest of the innocent, the victims and basically the majority of us.
Ninety per cent of the country's adults want a return to the death penalty; 90 per cent are staggered, that we, an independent nation, are being held by some British body dictating terms and conditions on how we exercise law and order in our own country. Even more staggering, is the power that the foreign bodies have over our government compared to the will of the majority of our people.
Could the government explain to the people why our majority decision is not equal to that of a foreign body? Why under previous prime ministers, Michael Manley and Edward Seaga, this constant outside badgering and our apology making and explanations were not evident?
I am interested in hearing some explanation to the above questions I am entitled to one as a first-class citizen of this country.
By the way, what is wrong with being a homophobic?
Homophobia is simply just a strong revulsion against an act that is admittedly unnatural and abnormal one that you cannot tolerate. What's wrong with that?
People tend to hear words and use them as if to frighten others. Well, I suffer from homophobia and it does not bother me.
I am, etc.,
