LETTER OF THE DAY - Putting youth in the vanguard
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE TIME for change is now. The 'old brigade' can no longer carry on. They have failed for 40 years to solve the problems of the country.

One for the birds
THE EDITOR, Sir: In a recent letter to the editor, Mr. Jeffery Cobham was amused by a presenter on a radio programme proclaiming that the original James Bond, Sean Connery, did much of his bird- watching near Ian Fleming's "Firefly".

Protecting law-abiding citizens
THE EDITOR, Sir: I notice that human rights advocates and activists are very vocal and up in arms in defence of the criminal elements and homosexuals to the point of accusing the government of covering up.

Maintaining historical accuracy
THE EDITOR, Sir: Thanks to Rev. Devon Dick for his gracious references to me in his commentary on the launching of the Bethel Baptist Church's Thrift Co-operative Society. Since he, like myself, has a fondness for historical accuracy...

Honesty, the best policy
THE EDITOR, Sir: My heart was warmed on Tuesday, November 30, when I saw a story on the front page of The Gleaner entitled "Boy honoured for honesty", written by Claudine Housen, staff reporter.
