Supporting our beautiful country

THE EDITOR, Sir:

RECENTLY MY wife and I spent our vacation in Jamaica, our beautiful country. I must say how pleasant and relaxing our stay was. We left Jamaica for over 10 years and this was our third trip home and the longest we had ever stayed. While in the United States we had been hearing so many negative things about Jamaica that if we were people given to listening to only bad news our decision to spend our earned vacation there would not have happened. Happily however, we went against all the negatives and spent our vacation there and we certainly had a wonderful time. It was like 'oldtime something come back again'.

STRONG CONVICTION

It is not that everything is perfect there but like everywhere else even the greatest country in the world, there are problems which cause great concern to everyone. But I have a strong conviction that as time goes on and as the Government, along with the people of Jamaica, inside and outside the island, continues to work to solve our country's problems soon and very soon our vision, hope, and dreams of a great, peaceful, disciplined and fruitful country will be realised.

I am strongly recommending to my fellow Jamaicans and others who are hesitant in visiting the island, not to just accept the negative news that they are bombarded with but they must visit and support our beautiful country, Jamaica, the land we love.
