THE PRESS Association of Jamaica will end its 61st anniversary celebrations today with a friendly cricket match against a Jamalco Masters team at Jamalco Sports Club, Clarendon.

The 25-over a side match will begin at noon, following a tour of the Jamalco plant by the visitors.

On the media side, several prominent members of the fraternity will be on show. The squad invitees include Television Jamaica's Simon Crosskill, Neville 'Bertis' Bell and Oral Tracey while TVJ's Dahlia Harris and HOT 102's Ruth Levy are the women in the squad.

Among the representatives from CVM Television will be H.G. Helps, Rohan Daley, Keith Campbell, Winford Williams, Garfield Burford and Wayne Lewis, the latter a former Jamaica cricketer.

Audley Boyd from The Gleaner, freelancers Fitzroy Prendergast and Orville Higgins, The Observer's Jermaine Lannaman and Durrant Pate of HOT 102 have also been named to the squad.

The big draw however is the former Jamaica and West Indies player Maurice Foster, who along with Stratton Palmer and Higgins, are the men selected from KLAS Sports Radio.

The Jamalco team will include Hopeton Shand, Wayne Peterkin, Steve Milner and Ransford Wallace with the lady player being Sheree Lambert.

Under match rules, each team must have at least one woman player. Dr. Richard Watson, a former Manchester parish player, Lascelles Bryant, Errol Thomas, Neville Morgan, Gorton Allen, Ferdinand Sappleton, Paul Brown, and Michael Simpson are also in the Jamalco squad.
