FOLLOWING THE devastation of many houses and other properties by Hurricane Ivan in southern St. Elizabeth, yet another hardware store in the parish has decided to reduce its prices by 20 per cent on a number of roofing, electrical and other building materials.
Speaking in an interview with The Gleaner yesterday, director of Southfield Hardware, Delroy Bacchus, said that he has decided to reduce the prices on building materials because "since hurricane Ivan there are a lot of people in this area who are yet to reroof their houses.
The aim, however, is to try and accommodate these people as best as possible to repair their properties. Most of the people are farmers, and their resources have dried up one way or the other since being hit by the hurricane," said Mr. Bacchus.
The hardware is offering a 20 per cent discount on most items and is looking forward to co-operate with the residents of areas, such as Junction, Cheapside, Pondside, Newell, Treasure Beach, Malvern and Bull Savannah.
