Look where you're driving!
published: Friday | December 17, 2004

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THIS IS in response to the letter 'The deaf driving?' printed on December 12, 2004. In the U.S. where I am from, things are much more advanced. Deaf people have been driving our roads for years.

SENSITIVE

In fact, it is known that since their hearing is gone, they are much more sensitive to smell, sight and vibrations.

It is true that "horn blowing" in Jamaica is a way of communication on the road, but it's not necessary. If people would only take the time to slow down and look where they are going there wouldn't be so many accidents!

I am, etc.,

S. MITCHELL,

St. Paul, MN, USA
