OCHO RIOS, St. Ann:

THE OCHO Rios Indian Association, on the weekend, donated over 500 hard-cover books and pencils to the Exchange All-Age School in St. Ann.

Principal Lemar Moncrieffe, who was on hand to receive the gifts, said he was elated at the kind gesture, adding that anything that contributes to the development of students had to be viewed as a major plus.

The association's president, Jack Thakurani, said his organisation was made aware that the Exchange All-Age would be "a most worthy recipient" of the books and pencils, adding that "we are on a mission to improve the quality of education in schools throughout St. Ann."
