Mayberry appoints non-executive director - First as company gears for public listing

ATTORNEY-AT-LAW, Benito F. Palomino, has been appointed to the board of Mayberry Investments Limited, effective Friday, December 8, 2004.

In making the announcement, Mayberry's executive chairman & CEO Christopher Berry said that Mr. Palomino's appointment is the first of the company's non-executive directors to be named, as Mayberry gears up for launching its public listing next year.

"We are delighted to welcome Mr. Palomino to our board", Mr. Berry said. "He brings a strong background in securities, banking and investment law and practice. This will enhance the quality of our decision-making and oversight functions, as we continue on our path of corporate growth and increased customer satisfaction."

For his part, Mr. Polomino said that he looked forward to being able to make a sound contribution to Mayberry's progress towards being a publicly-listed company as well as to the strengthening of shareholder value.

A graduate of the Norman Manley Law School (LL.B, (Hons) and of the UWI (BSc and MSc. Accounting), Mr. Palomino has practised law for over 14 years, specialising in banking, investment, securities and financial consultancy matters. He has a broad-based clientele in Jamaica, the Caribbean, United States and United Kingdom.

Mr. Palomino has has also held the post of financial analyst at the Ex-Im Bank of Jamaica (formerly JECIC) and that of manager in the legal department at the former Citizens Bank of Jamaica.

STEADY GROWTH

Founded in July 1985 by the late Maurice Berry, a former deputy governor of the Bank of Jamaica, Mayberry Investments Limited is a full service, financial advisory firm, specialising in stock broking and asset management services and products for its corporate and individual clients.

The company has experienced steady growth since its inception, with profits after tax, over the last five years, increased to J$200 million on gross revenues of J$2.4 billion in 2004.
