ELEVEN-YEAR-old Oshane Lee from Port Morant, St. Thomas, lost both parents within a week.

Oshane's father, Delroy Collin Lee, 35, popularly called Hugh, was attacked on November 30 by unknown assailants who severed his head in the process. The Morant Bay police have begun their investigation and have taken one man into custody for questioning.

GRUESOME DEATH

Oshane's mother, 30-year-old Verica Garrison, on hearing of the gruesome death of her child's father, died of shock in the Princess Margaret Hospital, where she had been a patient for some time before.

She was progressing well after undergoing an operation on Thursday, November 25, but died two days later from shock, her parents related to The Gleaner.

According to Mrs. Gretel Walker, Oshane's grandmother, he cried openly when he heard of the news of his father's cruel death.

FIRST FORM STUDENT

However, at the St. Thomas Technical where Oshane is a first form student he only disclosed the news to three of his classmates and did his work without any open sign of grief.

Miss Kerry Ann Coombs, his form teacher, describes him as well behaved, bright, outspoken and quiet. Although both parents died on the eve of his examination, he was focused enough to sit it.

With both of his parents gone there is uncertainty as to how Oshane and his two sisters and brother (from his father's side) will be cared for. Mrs. Walker, 65, pointed out that "things are not so pretty but I have to cope."
