Letter of the day - Reaching out to children at Yule
THE EDITOR, Sir: I REFER to your recent article about safe school programmes with a plea for boys. This is an excellent idea but I believe that we should be aiming to go further in trying to curb crime and violence in our society.

Passport delays
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE LONG delay in getting or renewing a passport after application has caused widespread dismay and frustration and among Jamaican citizens in New York.

Not fair, CWJ
THE EDITOR, Sir: MY PHONE line was cut off due to Hurricane Ivan. I made several reports to the company. The line which was disconnected on September 9, 2004 was reconnected on November 24, 2004.

Remembering 'Richie'
THE EDITOR, Sir: IT IS now Friday the 17th and I am reading Wednesday's Gleaner and there before me is the Letter of the Day with headline, 'Richie was one in 10 million'. I am in deep sorrow. I did not know Richie personally.
