ST. JOHN'S Antigua, CMC:

THE WEST Indies Cricket Board (WICB) released the names late Friday of the 14-member squad to participate in the VB Triangular Series in Australia starting next month.

The squad, which leaves for Australia next Wednesday, includes talented 18-year-old batsman Xavier Marshall as the only newcomer, while pacer Reon King and middle-order batsman Marlon Samuels get recalls to the Windies unit.

Veteran left-hander Shivnarine Chanderpaul has been named vice-captain, a position held in the past year by his Guyanese teammate Ramnaresh Sarwan.

The series with Pakistan and hosts Australia the other team participating, runs from January 14 to February 8.

Squad - Brian Lara (captain), Shivnarine Chanderpaul (vice captain), Christopher Gayle, Wavell Hinds, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Marlon Samuels, Dwayne Bravo, Ryan Hinds, Courtney Browne, Ian Bradshaw, Pedro Collins, Mervyn Dillon, Reon King, Xavier Marshall.
