FONTANEZKINGSTON, Jamaica CMC:
DIGICEL GROUP plans to boost its market share across the region next year, says Raoul Fontanez, its chief executive.
The fast-growing mobile phone company stated in a release that it would be pushing to take a larger slice of the mobile phone market in as it seeks to strengthen its impact in the Caribbean.
"Digicel is poised for continued success in the new year with plans to expand our footprint in the region and launch valuable, new communications services for our customers," Mr. Fontanez said.
NEW OFFERS
Digicel kicked off the new year early with two new offers, including rollover minutes and pre-paid roaming to the U.K. The new offers are combined with a series of holiday promotions that range from a free music concert series to a collection of gifts with every new phone purchase, including a limited edition West Indies Cricket jersey, with differing
promotions in each territory.
Launched in 2001, Digicel has become the fastest growing mobile phone operator in the Caribbean, he said. It is the largest GSM mobile operator in the region and plans to extend its foothold into other Caribbean countries.
The company operates in seven countries, including Aruba, Barbados, the Cayman Islands, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
