A prosperous 2005 from the PNPYO
published: Monday | January 3, 2005
THE EDITOR, Sir:THE PAST year was filled with a myriad of challenges for Jamaica. It was also a year when God once again spared us his wrath. We needed no other sign to reveal to us that we are truly favoured as a people by the Almighty than the passage of 'Ivan'. Yet as the murder statistics have shown, we live together like animals.
If there is one lesson to learn from 2004 it is that we cannot continue on this path. It is my sincere hope that Jamaicans will in 2005 learn from our mistakes of the previous year and endeavour to live differently as a nation. I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the secretariat of the People's National Party Youth Organisation to wish all Jamaica a prosperous 2005. We pray that God will continue to bless our island home and that we will be able to defeat the enemy of murder and moral decay that was so rampant last year.
Let us save Jamaica by 'bringing back the love'. Let us also remember our brothers and sisters in South East Asia at this time and we ask all Jamaica to pray for these people who have suffered greatly.
I am, etc.,
