New security measures at 'Central' after fire
published: Tuesday | January 18, 2005

THE CENTRAL Police Station in Kingston has stepped up security measures to safeguard sections of the compound which have been breached as a result of Sunday's fire.

Marlon Dietrich, Deputy Superintendent in charge of the Kingston Central division, said yesterday that police personnel have done temporary repairs to the affected area. Additional police officers have been posted on a 24-hour basis in the affected area.

Yesterday, a team from the Jamaica Constabulary Force's Services Branch and representatives of the Ministry of National Security, also visited the police station.

In the meantime, Deputy Supt. Dietrich is asking members of the public to call 119 or the station's CIB guardroom at 922-5076 if there is an emergency or if they need help.
