Mayor McKenzie out for two weeks
published: Wednesday | January 19, 2005

KINGSTON'S MAYOR, Desmond McKenzie has been ordered to rest at home by his personal physician, Dr. Kenneth Baugh for two weeks.

This follows Monday's fainting spell at Mr. McKenzie's Church Street, downtown Kingston office at the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC).

"I am currently at home recuperating and I will be out of my office until the end of the month. However, the work of my office and the council will continue as usual, under the guidance of Deputy Mayor Lee Clarke, and with the assistance of our colleagues in the council and the staff of the corporation," Mr. McKenzie said in a statement.

"I expect the level of co-operation from the various sectors which I enjoy while I am in office to continue until I resume."
