Gassan Azan, CEO of Mega Mart, views proceedings with DelRose Shirley at the organisation's annual staff dinner and party, held at Caymanas Golf and Country Club, St. Catherine. on January 18.
"WORKING At Mega Mart is like a piece of heaven." With those words, holiday worker, Jodi Halladeen broke into song for the huge gathering of staff, suppliers, bankers and friends who had turned out for the annual Mega Mart's staff party.
The event took place at Caymanas Golf and Country Club, off Mandela Highway, on Tuesday night.
Chief Executive Officer, Gassan Azan and his lovely wife Rosanne, headed the list of management of the popular discount store chain, who came out to relax, and wine and dine at the windy hill-side location.
BIG NIGHT
The Mega Mart Wholesale Club's bevy of female staff looked so fabulous, the boss had to comment on their outward transformation, several times.
The ladies obviously pulled out all couture and coiffeur stops for their big night.
In his remarks, Mr. Azan said the night was a chance to celebrate the company's philosophy of existence to please the customer at all times.
"It is because of your efforts that we are number one and it has not been easy, especially after the effects of Hurricane Ivan but our suppliers went the extra mile to ensure that we kept our doors open," he said.
The Mega Mart family also bade farewell to Sherneth Williams, who managed the Portmore store. Mrs. Williams will join her family in Canada shortly and from the kudos heaped on her by co-workers, she was a rare gem.
HIGH-ENERGY PERFORMANCE
It was obvious that the mouth-watering meal provided by the venue's catering staff found favour with all palates and,
after the formalities, the throng rocked to the beat of Milestone Entertainment.
But it was the high energy performance of popular DJ General Degree that had everyone on their feet, gyrating and singing along.
And, not to be outdone, emcee DelRose Shirley gave new meaning to setting the scene for seduction with her rendition of a love poem.
