ALECIA THOMAS was shot twice ­ once in each leg ­ by a gunman almost seven years ago. Still, despite the brace that supports her leg and toes that cannot move, Thomas says she is not bitter.

Companies stir up new recipes without trans fat
WOODMERE, Ohio (AP): AMERICA'S FOOD companies are stirring up new recipes for everything from cookies to canned pasta to get rid of trans fat, the artery-clogging ingredient that must be listed on food labels next year.
