TWO GOALS by Kwame Richardson led Arnett Gardens to a nail-biting 2-1 win over Harbour View and maintained their lead in the second round of the Wray and Nephew National Premier League, at Tony Spaulding Sports Complex yesterday.

Richardson, hit the back of the net in the 9th and 75th minutes, while a Clifton Waugh penalty had given the Caribbean champions hope of salvaging a point in the 'Jungle'.

The win puts Arnett Gardens on nine points in the second round, one ahead of the rejuvenated Constant Spring and more importantly, only one point behind Harbour View - which have two games in hand - and three points behind overall leaders Waterhouse.

In the Under 21 curtain-raiser, Arnett Gardens edged Harbour View 1-0 to register their fourth straight win.

Jerome Waite, coach of Arnett Gardens, thought his team played extremely well and dedicated the win to slain dancehall icon Gerald 'Bogle' Levy, who was killed last week.

"The game was well-played tactically by both teams and once you are playing Harbour View it is end-to-end action," said Waite, who was full of praise for his defenders.

"Our defensive unit stood out well. To block three shots in the six yards box is saying something about this team. It is a good win and we all know Bogle is not here so we dedicate this one to him."

HIGH QUALITY GAME

Meanwhile losing coach, Donovan Hayles said the game was of high quality and Arnett Gardens deserved to win.

"Both teams played excellent football in attack and defense, even though we conceded two goals.

"I think we dominated the first half totally and should have scored some goals there. Arnett did well, especially in the second half and could have scored more goals. When you look at both run of play, I must say Arnett deserved to win today," added Hayles of his team's second defeat of the season.
