THE EDITOR, Sir:
THANK YOU, Edward Seaga for being my inspiration, my leader and hope. I believe that a man of your kind who gave up your citizenship to be a leader of another such as our great Jamaica is counted in my book as one of the best.
As a child growing up I could remember the days when I could look forward to Fridays at school, because before the day ended we all received our milk and other calcium-based products to take home.
I remember my first experience of a hurricane (Gilbert), food was dispatched readily. I know because my mother was one of the distributors, and community people of all party affiliation received food and basic items. Growing up my parents didn't have to worry about education expenses in your year of governance, not so today.
I am now studying abroad, with the goal of becoming a lawyer. I wanted so much to study in Jamaica but the economic climate would not permit to do so. I recently came back to Jamaica and found that our country is at a stage where the necessities of life are so unaffordable.
Thank you for being my hope, teaching us that giving up is not the answer but moving forward is. Thank you for loving our country, you are a great man of dedicated service. I also want to thank your family for lending you to us. Thanks for being our defender in times of crisis, you never left us. In the eyes of danger you stood by your people.
I am, etc.,
