THE EDITOR, Sir:AS THE news unfolded about the brutal murdering of the three children in Kilancholly, there are many unanswered questions. Questions that we as a nation must answer. When did it reach such a stage where children have now become sacrificial lambs? There can be no excuse or explanation for such heinous crimes.
While we all have been numbed by this criminal act, we have to agree that the writings have been on the wall for a very long time. When family values are banished from among us, these are the fruits that we harvest. While we all mourn, let us stop pointing fingers and casting aspersions. This will never help.
What are we doing or what can we do to ensure that there is no repeat of what took place in Kilancholly? This is the time for solutions. We have allowed fear to swallow us, and this has made the jobs of criminal so easy.
If there is a time that we need to stand together as Jamaicans to fight this ogre called crime, it's now.
Let us unite with one voice and be steadfast in our actions not to turn a blind eye on criminality of any form. Let us isolate the criminals that are among us. Only then, can we be assured that what happened to the Williams in Killancholly will not happen to anyone else in Jamaica.
I am, etc.,
