BARBADOS, CMC:JACQUI KING-MOWATT, secretary of the Caribbean Sports Medicine Association, has described the late Elizabeth 'Liz' Robinson as a standard bearer in the field of sports medicine.
Jamaican Robinson, president of the Caribbean Sports Medicine Association, died at the Andrews Memorial Hospital on Saturday after a brief illness.
"It is with great sadness that we in the Southern Caribbean learnt of the passing of Elizabeth 'Liz' Robinson," a statement from King-Mowatt said.
"Liz was the President of our Caribbean Sports Medicine Association and was the livewire in the Caribbean Sports Medicine fraternity. Her work as a physiotherapist with athletes from all disciplines and from all Caribbean territories was exemplary and she was well loved by them all. She was a warm-hearted person who was always ready to offer her services and more often than not it was free of cost."
She added: "Liz will be sadly missed by us all. It will be hard to envisage a sports meet or a sports medicine conference without her organisational skills and her laughter. Her vibrant personality and her passion for sports medicine and physiotherapy has set the standard for us to follow.
"At this time our thoughts and prayers are with her son and daughter, her extended family and her many friends. May she rest in peace."
