George Henry, Gleaner Writer SPALDINGS, Clarendon:
IT WAS a spirit-filled atmosphere at the Spaldings High School last Thursday, the day when the parent-teacher association at that institution staged the school's first annual prayer breakfast.
Scores of parents, teachers and students packed the auditorium at the school as they got together to talk to God about themselves and to intercede on behalf of the entire nation. and students in particular.
Guest speaker at the function, Patricia Brown, the director of business at Bethel Bible College in Mandeville, called on parents to lay their hands on their children and continue to pray for them.
"Don't call them names," she told the parents. "Speak words of blessing on your children because the blessings will remove a lot of curse from them," said Mrs. Brown.
Principal of Spaldings High School, Alphansus Davis, said that praying is good, but noted that people need to follow up the prayers with work.
