Efficiency of the PNP
published: Wednesday | February 16, 2005
THE EDITOR, Sir:THERE HAVE been a number of analyses of the outcome of the election of People's National Party's (PNP) vice-presidents that was held on February 5, but what struck me as impressive, was the organisational efficiency of the party.
In an election that was
managed and fully operated by comrades, there were no reported problems at Mico. The comrades conducted themselves with
decorum and professionalism. We never had to call in the police to quell any feud and
neither did any of the aspirants have to take out any injunction to prevent the election from going ahead. We never had to call the Electoral Office of Jamaica to manage our internal election and this, to me, speaks to organisational efficiency and a mature political organisation.
I want to commend all those who were involved in the operations
of the elections, but I want to
commend all the comrades for the decent and professional way that they conducted themselves.
I want to challenge those who will be vying for the top post when Comrade Patterson departs, to make sure that they control their supporters so that the good name of the PNP is preserved.
Congratulations.
I am, etc.,
FLOYD MORRIS,
