A DAY before the start of the Lenten season, Best Dressed Foods officially introduced its Reggae Jammin' Fish Sticks to a small gathering of mainly restaurant owners, caterers and media personnel.
The launch took place at the English Pub, Liguanea Club in New Kingston.
The Reggae Jammin' Fish Sticks which have been on the market since January 31 are available jerked and
seasoned provided in partnership with Walkerswood. Like Best Dressed other fish products, the fish sticks are made from farm-raised, fresh red 100 per cent tilapia fillet produced by the group, Aquaculture Jamaica Limited in St. Elizabeth.
THE CONCEPTION
David Radlein, Best Dressed's
marketing manager, said the idea for the fish sticks came out of their annual meeting, and took between six to eight months from concept to product.
The blue (jerked) and red (seasoned) boxes of 18 sticks are sold for $165 to $212 each in most supermarkets
islandwide.
At the launch, Best Dressed Foods chef Jacqui Tyson pointed to the various ways the fish sticks can be had with potato wedges, burgers, fries or dips. The cooking time of 12 minutes makes the sticks perfect for people on the go and are excellent for events such as
barbecues and children's parties.
