The bridal party on the shores of Sandals Royal Caribbean resort in Montego Bay.
SURROUNDED BY a picturesque Georgian style garden at Sandals Royal Caribbean Clarence Clarke and Lisa Chambers-Clarke pledged their undying love for each other, in the company of 125 family members and friends.
The bride explains that she stumbled upon Clarke one day when the only thing on her mind was getting to work on time. Public transportation was never reliable. Lucky for her a Good Samaritan offered his services. Little did she know that this offer would one day be followed with wedding bells.
INITIAL MEETING
In their initial meeting the couple engaged in casual conversation. Chambers-Clarke said at the time she also took note of his neatness and pleasant fragrance of his car.
Their friendship developed and soon spiralled into a romantic relationship which, 11 years later spawned a bouncing baby boy on Christmas day.
"They're truly comfortable with each other," said Camille Roberts, a friend of the newlyweds. "Lisa is one of the happiest and relaxed brides I've ever seen."
The cake stand at the December 12 wedding, made by her husband from a tree trunk, was laden with orchids. To the couple's delight, one of the orchids bloomed on the cake stand. The officiating minister was the Rev. Ambrose Hinds.
