Denvor and Rockel Pinnock

He had to pop the question three times before she finally said yes.
Still, it was worth the wait, reckons Denvor Pinnock who tied the knot with Rockel Stewart on January 2.
Stewart, a 30-year-old housewife and cosmetology student, and Pinnock, 36, a subcontractor at Neville L. Daley's Company in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, met 10 years ago in November 1995.
The couple, introduced by a friend of Pinnock's realised that they lived across the street from each other. After their initial meeting, Pinnock made it a point of duty to stop by and chit chat on his way home from work. They became friends and four months later started dating.
"We would go out to dinner, to the beach and sometimes we would just sit at home and watch television," said Stewart.
MOVED IN
After dating for seven months she moved in with him.
"When Denvor asked me to move in with him I was living with my cousin. I was very comfortable but he insisted that we should live together."
Two months later he proposed. However, she did not think the time was right.
"I wanted to make sure that the relationship would work before I decided to get married," explained Stewart.
Two years later Stewart gave birth to their son, Denvor Jr. and Pinnock decided that it was the perfect time for a second proposal. He asked, but she still wanted more time.
Last Valentine's Day Pinnock decided to give it another try - this time with a twist.
"I was out all day and when I returned home Denvor was already home from work. I was a bit surprised to see him because it was 3:00 p.m and he never gets home so early. He walked up to me holding a piece of melon in his hand and told me to take a bite. However, I refused because I don't eat melon. He kept insisting, so I did. When I bit into the melon I felt something hard so I spit it out. When I looked it was a ring and I knew what it meant so I hugged him and said yes."
Their wedding took place at the Green Island New Testament Church in Hanover with Rev. Raymond Bryan officiating.
The mood for the wedding was set with light shades of pink, lavender, yellow, blue and mint green. After the ceremony and reception the couple drove away under the golden sunset to their honeymoon at Grand Lido Braco in Trelawny.
