Justice or no justice
published: Monday | February 21, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

WITH REGARDS to the Braeton trial, some people are saying justice was done and some are saying that justice was not done. But all of these sayings are after the trial is finished. Now what I believe is that justice began.

When the investigation started and that should be where a competent investigative unit comes in. Police to investigate police is a no, no.

The former commissioner of police said that some of the police are corrupt. Let an independent body do the job, by investigating the police; a body that does not come under the Jamaica Constabulary Force, because it is the type of evidence that is presented before the court that will decide a fair trial and have justice served.

I am, etc.,

IVAN TAYLOR
