Time for action
published: Monday | February 21, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

MY DEEPEST concern (and that of most of us) is the crime rate in our little country Jamaica. I think by now the Government ministers and the opposition would be sitting in the House talking about this rapid crime rate instead of almost everyday talking about CCJ and Court of Appeal.

We have reached a stage where gunmen are now killing people in daylight and when anyone sees, you dare not go to court and testify.

The government and the opposition are doing very little; are saying very little. Is it because these wicked cold blooded gunmen are not killing any of them? Something has to be done. It's time for action now from our leaders. Just about everybody is now frightened and panicking.

I am etc.,

EDDIE N. DOBSON
