'Kingfish' must be commended

THE EDITOR, Sir::AS A people we are often
very critical of our police force mainly because we hold them to high standards. There are times when some of their actions cause us to be really vocal and demanding. Too often, however, we are silent when right is done. We should as a nation commend the men and woman of the force who are a part of Operation Kingfish. This time around we can see and feel a difference.Operation Kingfish doesn't appear to be one of those media campaigns, instead the team silently goes about its tasks, applying real investigative techniques which have led to tremendous success thus far. Say what you will about the Minister of National Security, he has stuck to the task of protecting this nation and his initiatives are now bearing fruit.
We need to support the police force in their quest to rid this country of the vile elements who want nothing more than to see chaos reign supreme. Criminals must be made uncomfortable and they must be aware that try as they will, there is no escape. No ill deed will go unpunished. I lift my hat to the hard-working men and women of the Jamaica Constabulary, especially the silent warriors of Operation Kingfish. I say congrats to Minister Peter Phillips, and I encourage you, sir, to continue your hard work. I guarantee you that your efforts will not be in vain.
I am, etc.,
