More questions than answers
published: Thursday | February 24, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

ALL JAMAICANS were very pleased to learn of the find of the guns by the police, but I must confess that there seems to be many dark areas, and I am sure John Public would like to have answers to the following questions:

It would seem that this find was made by intelligence received. Nowhere in the various reports was there any mention of the X-ray machine alerting the authorities. Is the X-ray machine working?

When one hears of finds like these, guns or drugs by other countries, what is usually done is that those countries put into operation a system whereby the delivery of the contraband is made and it is trailed to point of delivery. Was this done in this case?

How are we ever going to find Mr. Big? And the most important question that I would like to ask of the minister in charge of this portfolio and the police commissioner is, have you found out who is the
consignee?

Answers please.

I am, etc.,

BARBARA COVER
