Witter to run against Golding in West Kgn by-election
published: Saturday | February 26, 2005

Omar Anderson, Gleaner Writer

Bunny Witter, the former People's National Party (PNP) West Kingston caretaker, will be the party's representative if and when a by-election is called in the constituency.

Mr. Witter will be up against Bruce Golding, the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate who replaced the former Member of Parliament Edward Seaga who resigned last month.

Mr. Witter is to be presented to the constituency on Sunday at a ceremony, commencing at 4 p.m. at Unity Lawn, at the corner of King and Beeston streets in the constituency.

Contacted on Thursday, the PNP candidate said he was looking forward to the by-election, the date of which has not yet been disclosed by Prime Minister P.J. Patterson. "There's a good chance for the PNP to show its strength," he said. "The race won't be a walkover if it's one man one vote, same man same vote."
