IN THE name of compassion and love, every traditional moral principle is being attacked. In an attempt to make everyone feel good we make wrong right and right wrong. But we know the laws of God are written in the heart of man, intuitively we know what is right and what is wrong.
Oddly, we use reason to argue against the moral law and, oddly, the arguments used pertain to ndividual cases made to destroy universal laws. Rather than state that there are exceptional cases which beg a question as to how such cases should be handled, we cast out the moral law to accommodate complaints against it. The result is a free assault against traditional Christian principles.
Everyone is appalled, including the media, at the terrible behaviours and morals of the young as well as the adults of our country. Every moral stance that protects and builds a good law-abiding Christian culture is being rejected.
There is the terrible problem of abortion. "What if the mother is raped?" There are some who are, but very few of those who abort. In the United States annually, 1.5 million babies are aborted. In the last 30 years, 43 million babies have been killed in the womb. But for migration from the Third World, the United States of America would be a shrinking population. In Europe there is a problem about having more than one child, and at the same time, a terrible problem against Third World immigrants. Abortion, which I believe was originally intended for the poor, is most common among the rich and middle-class. In the name of freedom of choice, selfishness and self-concern are destroying the Caucasian race as well as the wealthy and educated classes.
Another form of killing is euthanasia, which are quickly spreading in Europe and North America as a trend, e.g. Holland, Spain, and Canada. Thus old people are being euthanised, and even young children who are deformed are being made to feel selfish because they take away the freedom of their relatives and their parents.
FORGIVENESS
Does it not ring clear in the hearts of us all that marriage between two men or two women is against natural law, as well as the law of the Lord? We must hate the sin but love the sinner. As if sexual activity is the most absolute of activities that must be done by everyone and everybody; we make it tantamount to the need of breath or food. But it is not. If we have sinned and we repent sincerely, we are forgiven by the Lord no matter what the sin might be. But abstention is possible and necessary for all of us. The ideal of virginity for men and women or even self-control on matters of sex must not be debunked and the woman or man who is most promiscuous and lascivious must not become the ideal.
The war on morality is taken up primarily by the media. On the other hand, the media have a great potential to do good. Temporary pleasure brings death, but sacrificial love brings everlasting life, and peace of mind. At this period of time the media must not direct themselves to the raw passions and the exposure of sex and violence as ideals. They are not there only to inform but to form the values and behaviour of our society. I know of no other culture than the Christian culture, which brings about so much life and beauty and happiness.
In the war against morality, Christians must be rational and yet full of faith. Good will overcome evil. But we must continue to insist on the wrong of abortion, euthanasia, gay marriages, violence, drugs and so many issues, which are thrown up as controversial issues confusing young and old, Christians and non-Christians as well.
