Iwer George maintains impact

GEORGE

HE HAILS from Point Fortin, Trinidad, and was named Neil Iwer George. More popularly known to fans as Iwer George, he has become one of soca's most dynamic and energetic performers. He has produced such great hits like Bottom in the Road and Ah Home and has been able to maintain a positive impact on carnivals around the world.

In 1987 Iwer placed second in the Trinidad Road March with Boom Boom Time and in the same year won the best Nation Building song with Times Hard Hold Tight.

In 2000 Iwer George won the road march with Carnival Come Back Again and he has also won the coveted Soca Monarch Competition.

He currently performs alongside his brother Naya George in the Invasion band and recently opened a local radio station in his home town.

Now, as the 2005 season gets under way, Iwer has released a number of hit songs, including Tension and Water.

Iwer George is slated to perform at Bacchanal 'Blitz' foam party today at the Mas Camp Village.

Iwer's performance will be the highlight of the night of foam party madness, another of Bacchanal Jamaica's theme nights, being held every Friday at the headquarters for Bacchanal 2005, Mass Camp Village.

One of the most popular and controversial soca artistes and songwriters in the region, Iwer is loved by fans all around the Caribbean for his countless past hits, which include Jump an' Wine, Yes Iwer, Carnival Come Back Again (a song that really put him on the soca map), Let Me See Your Flag, Give Me a Bligh, Ah Tiefing a Wine and many others.
