LONDON, CMC:
Jamaican international Ricardo Fuller and Trinidad & Tobago?s Shaka Hislop will have a new boss soon as Portsmouth begin their hunt for a new manager next week.
Director of football Velimir Zajec took charge of team affairs following Harry Redknapp's departure earlier this season.
However, players admit dressing-room morale has plunged during Zajec's time as manager with Portsmouth suffering five defeats in six league games.
Zajec has been uncomfortable with his managerial role, failing to strike up a rapport with his players and refusing to carry out post-match interviews.
Zajec, though, whose arrival is believed to have been one of the catalysts behind Redknapp's departure, has never wanted to manage the team on a full time basis.
Now both Zajec and chairman Milan Mandaric will start going through perspective candidates after this weekend's match with Arsenal as Pompey are then without a game for two weeks.
"We have time for this," Zajec told Sky Sports.
He added: "It is difficult to say anything now, in this job you need to get things finished and then talk about them. We have had some good conversations. We have talked to people abroad and in England."
Hislop, the first choice goalkeeper at the club this season, has lost favour with Zajec and has watched as new signing, Greek International Kostas Chalkias has filled the starting position in the South England club side.
The Mirror newspaper had also reported that the Portsmouth players were unhappy with Zajec's treatment of Hislop and that they had complained to Mandaric.
Mandaric revealed that the next two weeks would be critical to the selection process.
"During those two weeks Velimir is getting together with potentially three or four candidates," Mandaric said.
He added: "I think we will have six or seven potential candidates on the list. He will screen them and when it comes down to two or three people I will get involved and help him out."
