JAMAICA'S CAPTAIN, Wavell Hinds, was full of praise for his team's performance in winning the regional four-day cricket title, after easing to an unassailable 83 points with their victory over Barbados at Chedwin Park yesterday.

There is one round to go, but none of the other five teams can total 83 points.

"This is a great moment in Jamaica's cricket," said Hinds, minutes after yesterday's victory by 245 runs. "Yet, again, we have won another title, and we are all happy. The team played well, very well."

According to Hinds, who took over from acting captain Tamar Lambert with Jamaica boasting maximum 60 points from five victories, Jamaica's performance was solid throughout the match and he was confident of winning it from they got the lead of 308 at the end of the first innings.

What about the toss, did it have an effect on the game?

GAME OF SKILLS

"I don't like to talk about the toss. Cricket is a skill game. Having said that, however, it was good to win the toss. It allowed us to bat first and to put ourselves in a good position.

"As a batsman, I love to bat first. The game is just starting, you are fresh, and I always back my team to perform to bat well."
