Paul-Andre Walker, Staff ReporterHARBOUR VIEW'S general manager, Clyde Jureidini is proud of the performance of his club in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup, despite their 2-1 loss to D.C. United.
The Jamaicans equalised through Luton Shelton after D.C. United had gone ahead at the Maryland Soccerplex in Germantown, Maryland. That was to change when D.C. restored their lead in the 64th minute of play.
Having to play at very cold temperatures, Jureidini thinks his team did even better than was expected.
"Even though it was a 2-1 loss. I think the team did well. The guys played under terrible conditions with 20-degree cold and still put forward their best. It is a testament to their commitment to winning," he said.
Speaking of the return-leg next Wednesday, Jureidini was optimistic having scored an away goal and having conditions more to his team's liking.
"On Wednesday, we will be at home and with the conditions in our favour we should do well. So we can attack rather than counter-attack like they did and look for some goals," said Jureidini.
