...Six dead in east Kingston
published: Sunday | March 13, 2005

DCP Mark Shields arrives at the crime scene. He is briefed by Superintendent Calvin Benjamin and Deputy Superintendent Cornwall 'Bigga' Ford. The lawmen and residents had to seek cover after the continued deluge of bullets in the area.

Tyrone Reid, Staff Reporter

ANOTHER BLOODY episode in an ongoing gang war in east Kingston left six people dead and a teenager nursing a gunshot wound yesterday as gun-touting hoodlums left the community cowering in fear ... again.

Not even the animals were spared the wrath of the gunmen, as after the smoke cleared, two dogs were found lying in cold blood.

Shielded behind the police who arrived on the scene, several residents from Bryden Street, east Kingston, tried to flee the community before dark yesterday.

This was after warring factions engaged in a gun battle killing six persons.

The residents were certain the mayhem would continue after the police left.
