Whether it's that beguiling accent or their Gallic charm, French men have the reputation as the world's greatest lovers.
In fact, when it comes to the language of love, the French speak eloquently, according to a recent story from the Reuters news agency.
The French, the story goes, are scorching hot when it comes to romance, topping a list of countries when it comes to the frequency of making love.
Freelance writer Keisha Shakespeare asked two Jamaican women: Are French men as romantic as they are reputed to be?
KARLENE LEMAIRE SAYS ...
"French men are artists at heart, this makes them more sensitive to others feelings."
They also have an eye for detail thus they pay attention to everything, such as their surroundings.
They have an eye for fashion and they believe in harmony, that's why everything they look at has to be harmonised.
When I first met my husband, Pierre Lemaire, there were a lot of small things that he would do that touched me -- like driving all the way from Kingston to Negril to visit me.
In 1976, after I had completed my bachelor's degree in Biology at the University of Miami, in Florida I decided that I wanted to learn French because I had a lot of French friends and signed up for classes at the Alliance Francaise in Kingston. While I was a student at the Alliance, I met Pierre and he would help me with my French, giving me terms of endorsements to study.
Shortly after we met I went away to Negril for a weekend. He wanted to see me so he drove all the way from Port Antonio, Portland, to Negril to find me, but he didn't. However, when I came back to Kingston he made sure to find me and from that day until today he has been following me. When I realised that he had followed me all the way to Negril, I was taken aback. I thought if anyone was going to follow me around that much I should pay attention.
There are so many wonderful things that I was and still am attracted to, like his sense of humour. On our first date he started out to pick me up an hour in advance because he knew he would get lost. It was then I realised how sensitive he was. Throughout 27 years of marriage I've keep on discovering new things about him.

KINISHA GORDON SAYS...
"Sometimes the loving is too much. Sometimes a girl is not in the mood to be lovey, dovey all the time. But he's always in the mood."
I think that French men are very romantic because they are sensitive and they are very loving.
They are very different from the Jamaican men I have dated. Every time my boyfriend, Antoine Voilleau, is leaving he kisses me goodbye, but the Jamaican men I've dated usually just said, "mi wi see yu later".
I live in Barbican, St. Andrew, and Antoine lives up the road from me. Before we started dating, every time he saw me walking and he was passing in his car he would say, "Hey, pretty girl". One day he stopped and we talked for awhile. From then he started to visit me at my home, especially in the mornings. Antoine loves to take photographs and he would take a lot of pictures of me and my son Zidine Wedderburne. I didn't know that it was because he liked me why he took so many photographs of me.
We started dating in June 2004 and on our first date we went to Ocho Rios to the beach. While we were there he asked me if he could kiss me and I told him that only my son should kiss me. He was a bit sad but he respected my feelings.
Now I cannot keep him away from me, he fills me with his love.
