ONANDI LOWE'S fight to remain a professional footballer in England is looking more hopeful as the striker's struggle comes towards its end.
Lowe was declined a work permit after being set to sign with English League One team Peterborough two weeks ago.
However, his status as a Jamaican International was questioned because he had not played the required 75 per cent of his country's games over the last two years.
FAVOURABLE RESPONSE
That situation seems to have been resolved, as Peterborough manager, Barry Fry was quoted as saying that the United Kingdom's Home Office has given a favourable response regarding the Jamaican international's case.
"We are a bit closer to getting the work permit for Onandi, but then there is an immigration issue after that. We have got a favourable response from the Home Office regarding the work permit and now we have to chase the Immigration Department to finalise details," said Fry, commenting on the official Peterborough web site www.theposh.com.
Lowe is being sought by the Peterborough team, (currently fighting relegation in League One) because according to Fry, he adds presence
up front.
Lowe scored 42 goals in 75 games
for his former team Rushden and Diamonds.
