Finger print bills passed
published: Thursday | March 17, 2005

PATTERSON

THE THREE bills to introduce the finger print voter identification were passed in the House of Representatives on Tuesday night.

The bills, which had been returned to the House after being amended in the Senate last week, will now be sent to the governor-general for his assent before being brought into law.

With the bills passed, Prime Minister P.J. Patterson is now expected to call the by-election that could see Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) leader Bruce Golding become the member of Parliament for the constituency of West Kingston.
